We would like to invite you to the 1st Martinsried Flow Cytometry Course,
run by Lisa Richter (LMU BMC Core Facility Flow Cytometry), Neda Tafrishi (LMU Gene Centre FACS Core Facility) and Martin Spitaler (MPI-B Imaging & Flow Cytometry Facility).

The course is open to all scientists on the Martinsried/Großhadern campus, both novices and active users who want to understand the technology better.
The 3-day-course will cover all aspects of flow cytometry in theory and practical sessions:

  • overview of the technology
  • fluidics, optics, electronics
  • signal detection and processing
  • fluorophores
  • spectral compensation
  • data analysis
  • practical applications – best practice and common mistakes

The dates for the main course are Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th of February 2019.
Each day will start with a theoretical session in the morning (10.00-13.00) in the MPI for Biochemistry, room S-45, after lunch break we will split into groups for practical sessions in the afternoon in the various facilities (13.45-16.00).
If there is sufficient interest (as indicated in the registrations), we would also organise a 4th day focusing on cell sorting on a separate date.

The number of participants is limited to 15, the registration deadline is 22 January 2019.
